Nailing her Colours to the Mast

Helen Clark has nailed her colours to the mast with regard to the sacking of the Hawke's Bay DHB by David Cunliffe. This from the Herald website: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/story.cfm?c_id=280&objectid=10495759

Clark told Paul Holmes on NewstalkZB this morning:

""But my view is that I don't really care what the rights and wrongs of what was going on within the board are - I don't believe that you can run a decent health service for the people of Hawke's Bay while that is going on.""

What??? Let's just back the truck up a little. "I don't really care what the rights and wrongs of what was going on within the board are" That is an incredible admission from the PM. What she is effectively saying is that because David Cunliffe made the decision to sack the Board it was right - right, regardless of whether or not there were sufficient grounds to justify or even consider such an extreme reaction by Cunliffe.

Clark, by her unconditional support for Cunliffe, has just inserted herself squarely in the sights of the opposition parties, especially National and ACT, when the proverbial hits the fan in the House tomorrow. I wonder what Phil Goff is thinking.

To Mr Ivan Toritu.

Dear Ive,
The Small Farms Association advises that you are keeping stock in the Whanganui area. (We hope we heard your name right.) People with small holdings can experience labour problems when dealing with sheep. One tic is bad enough, but two tics inbreed and your sheep can get very irritable. Wool over your sheep's eyes is another labour problem for the small-block head person. They need to be fleeced regularly. We offer a complete service for your sheep, discreet of course, if you are not up to doing them yourself. Worms can be dunne at the same time, if you wish.
If,besides keeping stock, you cultivate organic greens, we can give them a going over at the same time. Ask for Joyce, our gardener.
Make your labour problems a thing of the past.
