Power Cuts 3 weeks away

Just heard on the Radio Network news that David Parker admits that we could be within THREE WEEKS of power saving measures being imposed. Given that the government has been very coy about this in response from questions from Gerry Brownlee and others, this is unwelcome news, especially as the weather gets colder and the daylight hours get fewer. And one thing is a given - power is not going to get any cheaper this winter!

The "winter of discontent" is here with a vengeance!

Sorry, but power cuts are already here

It's just that under socialism and MMP, voters (especially Labour voters) are the last to see the cuts

Ti Point has been cut for weeks. Now other productive, export earning businesses are already being forced to cut power use.

The south island is importing power, because the cheap industrial power in Benmore and Avienmore has been turned off to save water (that's why industrial users have been turned off too), and we're burning Diesel and Coal mainly to keep households going.

NZ's power policy should be:
* security of supply to exporting businesses
* worlds' lowest prices for exporting businesses
* security of supply to high-paying households.
* cost-plus prices for low-value households

Under Labour, this is precisely backwards: the only policy is security of supply for low-value households.

Something to ponder.

Has Parker lied to the house?/

Given the number of times Brownlee has raised the question of Power cuts at Question Time in recent sittings - say since 1 April I think he has.

Even an incompetent clown like him must have known in February that this situation could occur.
