The Friday Forum - 6/6/08

Great - it's Friday again! The weather forecast for the weekend is rubbish, but with any luck, there might be just enough water in the hydro lakes to keep the heater going. Then again, there's a Warriors game tonight, the All Blacks tomorrow night at the Cake Tin (still debating whether to go!), and there's a cricket test for insomniacs and cricket tragics such as myself. Labour has taken a pasting in the polls, the economy is enough to drive a man to drink, and if you're a moron, Winston doesn't want you to vote for him!

What does all this mean? Well, there's plenty to talk about today!! This is YOUR place; welcome aboard, and enjoy your Friday!

Did anyone actually get to ask Winston whether he was going to repay $158,000.00 to Parliamentary Services?

I heard he was cutting people off mid sentence left, right and centre.

He certainly dominated a number of conversations in the bits I listened to - except when some of our more "aged" people were fawning all over him, whereupon he let them go on, and on, and on...

I got the impression he `chopped' a few people as soon as they started speaking. You would hear the name, one or 2 words and silence - followed by Winston saying John, are you there John and then a new patsy speaker.

He kept saying he was having "technical problems" - maybe he was dumping callers if they couldn't give a Super Gold Card number!
