This morning's Dominion-Post carries to sobering news that the price of unleaded fuel is likely to skyrocket to $2.10 a litre within days. This follows the spike in the price of crude oil on Friday to an unprecedented US$139 a barrel.
The impact of this for New Zealanders is truly worrying. Our business involves a lot of travel to provide our services to client families. Our funding is fixed. Accordingly we will have to absorb the cost increases. Doubtless there are countless nother businesses and individuals in similar predicaments. One thing we know for sure - it is likely to get worse before it gets better.

But there is a silver lining to another big price rise.. If petrol goes up 10c Cullen ill get 5 of that to spend on our behalf.
Hi Bill - I was trying to stay "above" politics with this one, but you're right; every increase is good news for tax revenue, although we have probably reached the point where price pressure is affecting demand. Some however don't have that choice.
How will it end?
A National/ACT government will cut fuel taxes!
