Just who the heck does Chris Carter think he is? The whole situation with Tihirau Shepherd's appointment as Prinicpal of Hato Paora College and his subsequent arrest on sex abuse charges may well be an embarrasment to the Minister. However Carter's refusal to respond to the Ombudsman is a very bad look. Today's Manawatu Standard tells all.
Carter is even the subject of critcism from the left. Kindred blogger Jafapete can be provocative, and I often don't agree with his sentiments, but even he is having a crack at Carter today, and rightly so. Jafapete says:
"Will someone take Chris Carter aside and explain how politics works in the real world. Or sack him."
Keeping Stock says "amen" to that!!

Absolutely. You do not ignore public servants who have the power to report to Parliament especially in an election year.
Oh yeah, I forgot. Labour could care less about the look and the fact it is election year per se. Anything required to cling to power (including ignoring the Ombudsman) takes priority.

Please give it a rest....... I'm getting sick of yet another story about an arrogant labour MP ignoring democratic convention, relying on factual misunderstandings, parsing every statement so as to to be legally correct if not morally correct.
Can we please have an election and get rid of these twats?
Thanks, but Norightturn was more eloquent than I.
I'm beginning to wonder whether the source of so many of the problems in politics is that everybody thinks in terms of spin, instead of reality. I can see evidence of that on both sides of the fence.
Because ignoring the Ombudsman isn't what is required to keep power. Quite the reverse.
