The Dom-Post this morning carries a new accusation against Winston Peters and New Zealand First - that despite Peters's denials, NZ First did indeed receive a donation from Simunovich Fisheries.
And kindred blogger Queen Bee at The Hive refreshes our memories of earlier accusations over the relationship between Peters and the Simunovich company.
With the Third Reading of the Appropriation (2008/9 Estimates) Bill set to follow the General Debate this afternoon, according to the final Order Paper for the House today, Helen Clark only has to "tough it out" until some time this evening for the government to survive John Key's motion of no confidence. Will she? Will Winston Peters let her? Or is there to be another twist in this sordid tale?
Keeping Stock awaits this afternoon's session of Parliament with considerable interest!

It would not surprise me if Winston votes against the appropriations bill. A snap election, an increase in his maverick status and increased media interest could translate into the magic 5% he needs. If he votes for it, then I expect the Climate change legislation is toast as he has no other leverage to differentiate him from Labour.
PS Do you and Jafapete have a fish fixation? :-)
Good question McDoc - I can't speak for JP, but the only fish I'm fixted on is either that which comes from a certain shop in town wrapped in batter, or the small one which lives inside a scallop shell!
As for the ETS legislation, I think that time has passed it by, and that H2 has not been able to stitch up deals with two out of the Greens, Maori Party and WFirst. For that I am grateful, as I would hate to see what a mess they would make ramming the ETS Bill through like they did with the EFB late last year.
