As I type this, Helen Clark is giving a political speech, and has yet to announce the date. But she has said "This is an election about trust".
Helen Clark has just lost the election, if that it the basis on which Labour plans to fight the campaign. Because we cannot trust Helen Clark and Labour. Helen Clark's first act as PM was to engineer Police Commissioner Peter Doone's resignation, by leaking confidential information the the media (she still hasn't announced the date!). Ian Wishart's book Absolute Power - the Helen Clark years chronicles the times when she has acted illegally or unethically. And right now, Winston Peters is attached to her apron-strings, yet she has known of his deceit since February.
Oh, by the way, she still hasn't got to the date!! She's now attacking National - has she no shame??!!
Anyway, here it comes....it's....8th November!
NB - this was posted within 30 seconds of the announcement of the date - you get it first at Keeping Stock!!
UPDATE: First story from The Herald is here. And Stuff says...
UPDATE #2: The Herald has this "reaction" page...

Oh well, Brian Henry will be happy.
Now he doesn't have to turn up to the privileges committee and make a dick of himself.
Or does he?

He sure does SMTC - the PC only ceases when Parliament dissolves (3 October)
A dickie bird told me that is not the only committee looking into his activities.

Oh Henry has to turn up - Parliament isnt dissolved until - I think it was Oct sometime. P.C. still goes until then.
I hope Key climbs into her over all those "trust" cheap shots.

Maybe Ian Wishart will give every National, Act and Maori Party candidate a copy of Absolute Power to wave around at campaign meetings when they talk about trust!
Just 55 more sleeps until we get our chance for change and improvement.
She reckons it's about trust - would that be the sort of Trust Peters has been hiding?
I2, well said my first comment is here

The comments about trust made me feel ill
The Herald are running a poll already. Only 606 votes so far but
Nats 62%
Lab 22%
Act 6%
Greens 5%
Plus of course the Maori Party with their 7 seats but only registering about 2%. No one else above 1%.
She reckons it's about trust - would that be the sort of Trust Peters has been hiding?
precisely. This election is about trust.
the spencer trust
National now at 70% in the Hearld poll.
ACT on 10%
Nats at 63%
ACT at 5%
Labour at 22%
That should have read; You get it here second at Keeping Stock, because barnsley Bill guessed and posted 5 minutes before me again..
But hey, I don't buy into the old adage "second is first loser".
To Rort U Stupid Tories
It's also about dirt and the first has come via a Google bomb: http://homepaddock.wordpress.com/2008/09/12/key-google-bombed/
Is Helen CLark now showing her true colours? Just saw her on Close Up with Paul Henry wearing an outfit that looked to be in NZ First colours. Interesting choice!
... A dickie bird told me that is not the only committee looking into his activities' ....
If Peters is lying about the events of 14 December, then it is hard to see how Henry is not lying also. That should trigger a Law Society complaint - if one has not already been lodged.
Henry must show phone/email records to back up his claim that he talked to Glenn. If he cannot he is in the shit.
Those on the periphery of politics never seem to learn the risk of sitting too close to the fire. It burns - but often not the principal offender.
Nixon never went to prison. It was all those around him that paid the real price.
Nixon never went to prison.
But if - somehow, against the Maorimander, against MMP, against all the rorts, against KFC -
if somehow John Key does win then he should make damn sure everyone in Labour and NZF and the Unions does gaol time. Every single one.
Helen is absolutely correct. It is all about trusts...
