A crappy weekend ahead?
It certainly looks like it, if this Severe Weather Outlook graphic from the Metservice website is anything to go by! Which is just as well, as there is much to be done on the 'puter this weekend - both work and blogging!
This isn't unusal for this time of year which is one of the reasons I say it's too soon to put the clocks forward.
Having said that, confidence low in the south? Surely not, we're all postively confident and confidently positive down here in spite of still resenting the early start to daylight saving.
PM - it's been pretty windy here for the last week (now that we are on the Christmas side of the Equinox!), and we actually really need some decent rain. The grass already has a decidely yellow tinge to it. Hopefully we'll get a good dousing over the next few days.
Yeah well, I must admit the S.W winds have been annoying this week.
Its strange, I love HB in the winter as it is actually green for a change. I dislike the summers here because everything is so brown and bland.
Every summer I have to take at least a couple of trips up to my turangawaiwai in the deepest darkest bush of the East Cape to get a soul lift.
My wife (the artist) on the other hand loves the summers here but constantly wants to be (a) on the other side of the world, or (b) on a beach in Thailand for the winters.
Being the dutiful spouse I am I normally only get to live here at the time of year I dislike.
Got her this year though - setting up a new business so no time for travel.
She's already talking about Spain for next winter, sigh.

You live on the wrong side of the ranges IV2.
Move east young man.
By the looks of that map, us westeners might well get blown all the way to Napier!

Prophet, As one on the leeward side of said ranges and at altitude, I have one thing to say - Don't ya just love 'active' weather?
A normal day on this side - if it's not tied down, be prepared to lose it. We have been lucky with the lack of wind for more than a year.
