Courtesy of Kiwiblog, what you see above are the proposed tax rates for National's tax package. There are significant cuts for those earning less than the average wage, which you'd think would be welcome news at places like The Standard - but no - their two latest posts are entitled "Tax cuts for the rich" and "No tax cut for most from Nats" - as I have opined over there (must go and shower now - I feel unclean!!), it's rather reminiscent of that classic lines from "Life of Brian" - "There's no pleasing some people!".

Yes, but the up side is he wants to improve the standard of education in NZ. One can just hope that it will reach those most in need.
You cannot give something to people who already effectively pay no tax (and who will undoubtedly vote Labour anyway).
