More bad news ...

... on the Aussie bushfires. Stuff is now reporting that the death toll could exceed 300.

The scale of this tragedy is hard to fathom. We have seen reports suggesting that as much as one third of the area of Victoria has been affected, and one insurance company is estimating that the damage bill will exceed $A500 - which excludes the unquantifiable human toll.
But there is a skerrick of good news. Victorian Police believe that they have identified a suspected arsonist, and are close to releasing an identikit picture.
Once again, we extend our thoughts and our prayers to those who have been affected by this disaster.

There have been a few instances in New Zealand and elsewhere where arsonists actually join local Volunteer Fire Brigades because they like the thrill of the fires.
It will be interesting to see if this is the case with some of the people they catch.

Whatever their motivation they should be `hung, drawn and quartered' and even that would be too good for them.
