Two men sentenced to prison for their part in the "extremely cruel" murder of Rotorua toddler Nia Glassie could be free within months.... followed by:
Michael Pearson, 21, and Oriwa Kemp, 18, were sentenced to three years and three years four months' jail respectively on charges of assaulting and wilful ill-treatment towards Nia.
The pair could be eligible for parole within six months after already serving more than half their sentence in custody awaiting trial.
Obviously Mike Watson saw NONE of the TV coverage of the Nia Glassie case, or else he would have known that Oriwa Kemp is, biologically at least, a woman. Likewise the sub-editor who checked the story. Bad form from the Dom-Post.
