Oh Brian!

Brian Rudman shows his true colours in his rant this morning about the re-establishment of titular honours - and boy, it is some rant! All the expected cliches came out, such as "the National Government's decision to restore ye olde royal titles", "relic of our colonial past", "Re-instituting a ridiculous regime of titles dating back to feudal times" and of course "sycophantic forelock-pulling", but this paragraph stood out, where Rudman showed some naked political bias (our emphasis added):

It's not done to hand write the prefix Sir or Dame when you sign a letter, but you can type Sir Big Nationalpartydonor KNZM, QSO, straight underneath. In conversation, "it is not improper" to introduce yourself as Sir Humphrey Roadbuilder, because "the person will then know to address you by the title and not as "Mr" or "Mrs", thereby avoiding embarrassment".

We suppose that we should be commending Rudman for at least not trying to package his hostility towards the National-led government, but that is not going to stop us from drawing our good readers' attention towards the bile that he spouts.

People like this fool rage on about cultural imperialism, all the while trying to force their brand of it down everyone else's throat.

Dead right LaFemme - which is why we will continue to highlight his particular brand of poison.
