Will Helen double-dip?

So it has been confirmed. Helen Clark is off to start her new role as head of the UNDP, starting on Monday 20 April.

That's less than three weeks away. So we would like to know

• when will Helen Clark formally resign from Parliament?
• when will the by-election in Mt Albert be held?
• will Helen Clark be making a valedictory speech this week?
  
• will Helen Clark still be in receipt of a salary as MP for Mt Albert once she has started working for the UN?

Meantime, the Herald reported yesterday that there is a good, old-fashioned bunfight for Clark's seat amongst Labour's ranks, with up to seven contenders so far, and that's excluding Judith Tizard, who reckons she has unfinished business. "Pick Judith" we exclaim! National could do with another Auckland electorate seat!!
