Last week, the NZ Police released the file on their investigation into the theft of e-mails from National leader Don Brash. It was heavily censored, and of dubious value to anyone.
Today the NZ Police released its file on the Tony Veitch investigation to the Dominion-Post. It is, to quote the Dom-Post, a "large and graphic file". The Dom-Post has immediately reported in detail on all the allegations which were the subject of those charges against Veitch which were withdrawn after his guilty plea to the most serious charge - in other words UNPROVEN allegations.
Does anyone else reckon that this is a double standard by our Police? It certainly does nothing to dismiss the perception that Veitch was tried and executed by the media.
