... hath no man ..." says the passage in John 15. The wording of The Message transliteration is even more poignant and relevant - it says:
Put your life on the line for your friends
Sen Const Len Snee did that today. A long-serving police officer, committed to making his community safer, he was quite literally executed for doing his job.
And we've just read that Len Snee's colleagues have been just as courageous tonight, coming under gunfire while trying to retrieve their fallen friend's body.
This has been a tragic day for the New Zealand Police, especially those in Napier - all we can offer them tonight are our thoughts, and our prayers.
