Labour's candidate selection

As we speak, the Labour Party candidate selection for the Mt Alber by-election is underway. It seems to be a two-horse race, between Phil's candidate, David Shearer, and Helen's second-choice candidate, Meg Bates. Helen's first choice, Phil Twyford, the Labour list MP who actually lives in the electorate was, of course, kneecapped by Phil Goff.

And WhaleOil suggests that the selection of Mr Shearer could pose some further problems for Labour. Hmmm...
