New Zealand Music Month - 25/5/2009

We were driving back from the Kapiti Coast yesterday afternoon, and heard this song on a Radio Live programme about New Zealand hip-hop music. We did a qucik search of our NZMM file when we got home, and sure enough, we had the video on our list of "possibilities"! So that was enough for us, even though we are no great fans on the genre!

We haven't been able to find out much about Sisters Underground, but we DO know that this song dates back to 1994, that the girls' names were Hassanah and Brenda, that they have been described as "Polynesian Sades", and that the song has been used in TV2 promos.

So here, for your Monday morning entertainment is Sisters Underground with In the Neighbourhood...

Inv,

Heard that interview too, and it was bloody good.

Radio Live in the weekends is very under-rated IMHO.

Graham Hill is as good as anyone on the airwaves.

Agreed LB - I was driving a truck back from the Kapiti Coast, and the radio only picked up FM, so it was a refreshing change from Radio Sport. The earlier interview with John Key's new science guy was very interesting also.
