Christian Music Sunday - 21/6/2009

We had so much fun during New Zealand Music Month, we decided that we wanted to keep showcasing music. And after a bit of thought, we decided to continue our Christian Music Sunday series, but this time, not restricted to New Zealand artists - although we will most certainly will be including Kiwis on the roster. But it's to the US we turn this morning.

dc Talk released it's first, self-titled album in 1989, and quickly built up a huge following. Toby McKeehan (tobyMac), Michael Tait and Kevin Max began primarily as a hip-hop band, but their music evolved over successive albums. Today's featured track is the title song from dc Talk's fourth album, and is the band's signature song - a fusion of rock and rap. It's also an exhortation to Christians of all ages to be proud of their faith - enjoy Jesus Freak

And for those who are struggling, as we used to, to grasp the rap breaks, you can find the song's lyrics here
