It's Friday again, and it is a rather Frosty Friday in seaside Wanganui. But the sun is shining, and even though a brave Wanganui team ultimately succumbed to Wellington yesterday, life goes on!
But we digress; the Keeping Stock Friday Forum is again open for business. You know the rules; basically, there are no rules! Feel free to rant, rave and vent about whatever takes your fancy; get it out of your system before the weekend!
All always, the floor is now yours ...

Seeing this lies idle today I will set the ball rolling.
Last night I watched the pre lunch session in the ashes test and was fascinated by the commentary teams praise of Englands batting effort and the way the tail put together a further 100 runs approx. Former England cpatains Messrs Lloyd, Hussain, Botham and Atherton were all `waxing lyrical' about it being a winning score especially with the Aussies having to bat last.
Well with the Aussies getting easily to 35 without loss at lunch I wondered if they were reading the game right. When I heard the stumps score of 249/1 and Ponting on 100 I wondered what the former England Captains thoughts were. I shall watch with interest at 9.30 tonight as unless the Aussies absolutely disintegrate England will probably be batting last trying to save the test.
By the way was Pietersens shot to get out the worst ever played by a top order batsman in an Ashes test?
Good observations pdm. The batting conditions yesterday were pretty benign - the ease with which the Pom tail-enders were able to score should have been an omen. The new ball will be crucial for England, as will an early breakthrough.
As for Pietersen - I opined yesterday that his "out shot" was the worst I had seen since Craig McMillan retired!
Mmmm Inv2 - just had a look back and couldn't find the McMillan comparison. Was it on someoneelse's thread?
The poms will have to bowl and field like demons today to get back in the game. These are the sorts of opportunities relish - `get the bastards down and the kick them' for want of a better phrase.
They enjo doing that to England even more than they enjoy doing it to we Kiwis.
Ah yes pdm - on reflection, it might have been over a Barnsley Bill's place - was it a good comparison?
I haven't visited BB in a while - I just keep an eye on him at No Minister.
Yes fair comment there were times when McMillan was very inventive, lol, when it came to getting out. Sinclair got that way too in the last tests he played.
Still I think Pietersen might be the worst ever for a top order, in fact a so called star, batsman in an Ashes test - for either side.
