The Weatherston trial

There's an interesting story in the Herald on Sunday this morning about the Clayton Weatherston trial. Rather than examining the evidence (most of which is not in dispute), we read that the Solicitor General is looking at the implications of internet commentary.

We want justice to be done in this trial, as readers will be aware. Accordingly, we ask that you don't comment further, and we won't either. We will be closing off the comments functionality of any posts on this case, and ask you to refrain from comment until the jury begins its deliberations. In taking this approach, we are following the lead of the Lord of the Blog himself, DPF.
