We read this morning that one of Australia's highest-paid rugby players, Lote Tuqiri has had his contract terminated rather suddenly. The ARU is saying little, only that it is "an employment matter", whilst Tuqiri is calling in the lawyers.
Clearly, something has happened behind the scenes to precipitate the ARU's action. And doubtless, in the fullness of time, the details will be revealed. In the meantime, perhaps we can speculate! We understand that Tuqiri is no friend of Aussie Bob Deans; we wonder if there have been too many sheep jokes in the Ocker dressing room. Or if you know the truth, or even think that you do, feel free to share it!

The answer is simple really.
With a haircut like his it was inevitable that Tuquiri would get into serious trouble at some stage. lol
They wanted to get rid of him. He’s paid too much, and had lost fitness and condition, and wasn’t near the starting XV.
Bad attitude too
So they got him on a minor breach of curfew.
You could be right LB - but such a story is nowhere near tittilating enough for the blogosphere!
That’s what they’re saying on the http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/ blog (best Oz rugby blog / site by a mile), and they’re normally onto it.
Probably some decent Aus rugby politics in it though. I sense the less than avuncular hand of O’Neill on the shoulder here.
