Play resumes very soon (hopefully, or in Barnsley Bill's case, hopefully not!) on the final day of the third Ashes test at Edgbaston. Australia almost certainly can't win the match; England most certainly can, if they get an early breakthrough this morning; a draw will see England take a 1-nil series lead to Headingly, Leeds later in the week.
But how important is the moment pictured above going to be in the context of both this match and the series? As former off-spinners ourselves, we truly appreciate an absolute peach of a ball from Graeme Swann to Ricky Ponting last night. Swann lured Ponting forward to drive, but the ball dipped and turned sharply, spinning back through the gate to hit middle and leg. It was the perfect off-spinner's delivery. But more than that; it disturbed the pitch surface, and if the ball is going to start "going through the top" on day five, the Australian batsmen, already down one with the loss to injury of Brad Haddin might face a real struggle today.
We'll be watching the start of play, and when tiredness takes over, MySky will come into play! It should be a fantatstic night of cricket, and as we have said before - we don't like cricket; we love it! Bring it on!!
