Cam Slater won't be getting taken away by the boys in blue anytime soon. According to Stuff, the Solicitor-General has decided against charging The Whale with contempt of court over the rather esoteric post he put up on Gotcha on Monday.
We're glad that common-sense has prevailed for the moment over this whole vexed issue of name suppression. Now is certainly not the time for a knee-jerk reaction from the authorities to a blog post which quite probably did not amount to a breach of the suppression order in the case of The (Former) National Figure charged with sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl.
Once again, whilst we wouldn't go about things in the way that Cam has, we commend him for having the 'nads to keep this issue to the forefront. That he's managed to upset Trevor Mallard in the process is but an added bonus!
