Splutter; choke!

Indeed; the "C" word - choke - is one of the most overused words in sport. But it's the only word we can accurately use to describe Pakistan's capitulation in the second test against Australia at Sydney yesterday.

An hour before the close of play on the third day, Pakistan was in an unbeatable position. 24 hours later, they lost the match and the series. Cricinfo records the gory details.

It was indeed a choke of monumental proportions from the homeless Pakistanis. It almost rivalled that of the man below, who, in our ever-humble opinion is the King of Chokers after his defeat in the 1996 Masters Tournament ... we may have to talk about this some more tomorrow on This Sporting Life!
