A happy ending

We blogged a wee while ago about Homepaddock's stolen laptop, and the excellent efforts of the Police to recover it. We're delighted to advise that this story has had a happy ending, and that Ele and her computer will shortly have an emotional reunion!

But Ele has a dilemma now; does she "let it go", or does she press charges, which will result in the offender likely facing diversion. She's asked for help from the blogosphere, and we have obliged; please consider doing likewise. FWIW, we think that the offender should be made to suffer some consequences.

In the meantime, let's give the Police a pat on the back for some good, old-fashioned investigative work. It's all too easy to slag the Police off when things go pear-shaped, but it's great to have the opportunity to praise them for a job well done. We extend that praise to the constable who attended our recent incident; he was a fine advertsement for the NZ Police.

Yup,
well done the Rozzers,
Ele should prosecute.

The police man deserves that pat on the back, if he hadn't persevered I'd never have seen the laptop again.

Almost all the people who've commented agree with you that the guy who took it should be charged.
