A question for Jim

KiwiBank will forever be Jim "Ol' Man River" Anderton's baby. And rightly so; Kiwibank may well end up as Jim's crowning glory for all his years in Parliament.

Which is why we have to ask this question of Jim; when Kiwibank's marketing strategy has been to diss the "big Aussie banks", why would he have have shares in one of the enemies?

"Surely not" you say. Alas, the Register of Pecuniary Interests does not lie. At the foot of page 8, you will see that Jim Anderton has a shareholding in the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. We reckon that's really, really ironic.

Nice one Jim! We wonder though if TVNZ and TV3's political editors will get themselves in the same lather over this as they did with John Key's shares. Probably not, but Jim might be well advised to call his broker with the instruction to sell before the Christchurch mayoral campaign starts.

What it proves is that Anderton can do Hypocrisy with the best of the left.
