No "Ole" today ...

Switzerland 1; Spain nil

The World Cup favourites now have to win both their remaining group matches to even make the second round! The Swiss had never beaten Spain before today; now they have thrown the World Cup wide open.

STOP PRESS: 24 minutes in, and the hosts are a goal down to Uruguay. It's not looking good for Bafana Bafana, with a match against France still to come ...

UPDATE: South Africa's woes deepen. Goalkeeper Khune is red-carded for a foul, and Uruguay score from the resultant penalty - 2-nil.

You could be right James - early indications are that it could be a repeat of the 1974 final betwwen the Germans and the Dutch, but I wouldn't rule the Argies out either. Brazil and Spain have been the big disappointments of Round One. Even though the Brazilians won, they looked a shadow of the great teams which have preceded them.

I don't know too much about the game but, I would be careful about underestimating the Brazilians. Their background suggests they will be in the firining line at the business end.

Forlans goal against the saffers was a cracker.

The hosts are toast!

Also the brazilians first goal, was unbelievable. The keeper had it covered as no-one except a brazilian would have tried a shot like that.
Superb!
