Sea Shepherd scumbags

We've blogged a number of times about our contempt for the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. They've reached a new low now in our estimation though.

Not only has Sea Shepherd cut its ties with Pete the Pirate Bethune; the organisation has been totally dishonest as well. Sea Shepherd KNEW that Pete Bethune had a bow and arrow aboard the Ady Gil. Sea Shepherd filmed Bethune and his bow and arrow for its Whale Wars documentary. To now distance itself from Bethune and use that as an excuse is complete and utter bullshit.

Sea Shepherd has used Pete Bethune, and now that his boat has been sunk, with the attendant glare of publicity, Sea Shepherd is discarding Bethune like a dirty dishrag. We heard his estranged wife interviewed by Mike Hosking as we were driving to work, and she has indicated that Sea Shepherd is running Bethune's defence in the Japanese court; that Bethune's interests are not being best represented. That does not surprise us in the slightest.

Sea Shepherd is an organisation of zealots; eco-terrorist zealots. To Sea Shepherd, the end clearly justifies the means. The Pete Bethunes of this world are a commodity to Sea Shepherd; an expendable commodity. Whilst Bethune is still responsible for his actions, we DO feel a shred of sympathy for him in the way that he has been duped and used by Sea Shepherd.

Sea Shepherd relies on publicity to generate funds for its activities. So we're going to do our best to make sure that Sea Shepherd gets lots of publicity, but not the kind of publicity it can itlself control. We'd welcome support from like-minded bloggers, Facebook users and anyone else who believes that Sea Shepherd's behaviour towards Pete Bethune has been reprehensible.

Are you with us?

I am with you, IV2.
I posted on the matter last night.

I see Andrew Bolt has video of an arrow being fired from the Ady Gill.

Tim Blair notes Bethune was described as a hero by colleagues a short while ago, who knew of his bow and arrow.
It is indeed most reprehensible for them to diwown him now.
It gets even worse for Bethune.
Not only did Sea Shepherd know about his bows and arrows, one colleague even desribed him as a hero!

IV2 you are the most unchristian christian I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. Take a long look in the mirror and cease this blog. it is the devil's work. I'm serious. You should renounce your saviour (The Lord Jesus) and admit that it is your ego that drives you towards eternal damnation. Perform good acts and repent. This forum for negative and vain 'commenting' is sinful.

Who the hell do you think you are anon - The Pope?

Get a nom de plume and play the ball not the man. It is bad form to attack blog hosts and to do so anonymously is plain ignorant.

Thanks for your concern about my spiritual health Anon, but be assured; God and I are tight! My faith is my business and His; not yours.

Prefacing your opinions with the word 'humble' does not make you humble in the eyes of our all-seeing God. God is good. Blog is bad. I am not the pope, but am pure of morals. THis is a hypocritical and ego driven place. Mammon shall conquer those who cast stones when they themselves have records that are less than illustrious. Evidence based on earth, black spots on the soul in the afterlife. The researchers are at work....

Hey folks I just looked at the video to me that does not look like an arrow, it looks like something fired out of a tee shirt cannon like they use at sports events. The use of tee shirt cannons was reported during the first clashes leading up to the collision. It seems a bit fast though perhaps the tee shirt gun was modified for longer range.
