Woodham on Brown

Len Brown has lost at least one vote - that of Kerre Woodham - she opines:

Just when I didn't think things could get any worse for Len Brown, he goes and does it again.

And before his fans leap up and down and say I'm part of some spooky right-wing conspiracy, I'm not.

He had my vote before the events of the last couple of weeks. Not for any particularly compelling reason. I just thought that if we had a centre-right government, it balanced things up a bit to have a centre-left mayor.

Bit flimsy, I know, but given the calibre of the candidates, that was the best I could do.

Now all bets are off. First there were the credit card irregularities. I could just about overlook that as it seems a vast majority of our elected officials have difficulty in working out the difference between a work expense and household shopping.

Then came the claims of persecution and the protestations of being victimised. That was unattractive, but what really turned me off was the performance Brown gave to the Manukau City Council on Tuesday night.

David Lewis and Conor Roberts need to tell Len Brown that upsetting a media commentator and talkback host on a top-rating radio station isn't career-enhancing. We are of the opinion that Len Brown is getting very average advice from his Team Brown at the moment.

Kerre Woodham's full piece is well worth a read this morning.

I'm posting from church on my touch screen CCTV to God and channelling his word. He says: "There is much hate in your hearts. The community of this blog are like the lepers of the bible" No one liked them and wished they were banished so their legs fell off in private. However, I will be a jesus figure to you. I will be christian and try to save you from eternal damnation. There is some hope, but you must repent. Right now, (and this is according to Yahweh, not me) your souls are withered and shall die on the vine. Your vine is thin and fruitless. The fruit in the basket is softer than that on the tree. The branches of the tree sway in both directions. Unnatural ego is the endpoint of love for God.

Anon - you must pay more attention to those little voices, especially the ones that tells you to go to your eternal reward.

Cheers for that mawm - I think our brother Anon is getting a little obsessive, but I can quote scripture every bit as well as he can!

Are you suggesting I kill myself to see the face of God? You obviously know little about the bible. And for you to OK that INV2 saddens your maker. Both the suggestion and the execution are sins. But then this place is riddled with sin. And crime. http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100308135812AAeBR3Q

Victmised/persecuted...

of course he is, he's playing a big boy's game and [insert your favourite source/conspiracy...] found a weak point and pressed, hard. That's politics. Dunno what's so unattractive about the truth there, for Kerre.

Brown was never going to win because he doesn't have the nature of a big time politician. Someone should have told him before he bothered. Did he not consider what he'd have to do and people he'd mix with after he'd won?

Banks was always a forgone conclusion. This is Auckland Lord Mayoralty race, for godssakes. You can't be any old leftie and think your quirky personality will take it. If you want to be left of centre and take Auckland you'd have to be as serious as Martin Luther King in your dreams for the future, with people getting along together.
