Happy Birthday to us!

Goodness! Keeping Stock is three years old today. Our blog-birthday kind of snuck up on us this year; we thought it was at the end of August, and it was only when we were looking for something in the archives last week that we realised that today was the day.

When we blogged our first post on 3 August 2007, we really didn't have a clue what we were doing, and some would argue that not much has changed. But 3402 posts later, we're still in business, and have no plans to go anywhere anytime soon.

We enjoy the blogosphere, and we enjoy blogging. We've made a lot of new friends, some of whom we've even shared an ale of two with! We've built up a group of people who comment and interract on a regular basis, and they come from all corners of the political spectrum, which is, in our ever-humble opinion a healthy thing.

It took us a while to get around to counting visitors. We installed Sitemeter about four months after Keeping Stock was launched, so we probably didn't miss TOO many hits! But by sheer coincidence, some time in the early hours of this morning, we recorded our 250,000th unique visitor, so there's a double reason to celebrate today!

But all this would be meaningless if it were just for us. So we just want to say thanks for everyone who has supported and encouraged us. From time to time we've had criticism, and we've taken some of it on board. We've only had one major faux-pas thus far, but it was a salutary lesson to us to think before we hit the Publish Post button. And even though Tim Selwyn and Bomber Bradbury were dismissive of our entries into the AirNZ Best Blog awards, we're grateful that there are people out there who share our worldview or our take on a particular issue.

Right, what can we blog about next ....?

Many happies I2.

(Grant Google has been weird for weeks - doesn't show a word for verification until after you click publish when it shows up with a message that what you typed doesn't match and also says says there's an error processing this form try again - but if you type in the wrod verification and retype your password it works).

Happy Birthday, I2, and all the best for what I hope is a continuing and rewarding blogging career.

Congratulations and thanks on giving us the benefit of your time both here as blogger and as a commenter on other blogs.

Yes congrats and keep up the good work. Oh .. and don't worry about what those village idiots of the rabid left say about you. They are completely irrelevant and the majority of their views are out of step with contemporary NZ society.
