It's our second visit to Melbourne, and although we've been here less than 24 hours, we're loving it. Our hotel is just around the corner from Lygon Street, so that's where we headed for a nosh last night. The hospitality industry at home might be in a nosedive, but that's not evident here; Lygon Street was packed.
We've managed to get all our work done today, so tomorrow will be a day to explore the place. Mrs Inventory wants to shop, whereas we'd be quite happy going to an AFL game, so we'll probably compromise on a market (or two), some food and beverage and a bit of sightseeing. We're off out to dinner soon, then to a stage show tonight.
But boy; do they have public transport nailed. We bought two day passes today for around A$6 each, and have hopped on and off the trams at will. It's a fantastic city in that regard. And boy, has the Docklands area changed since we were here seven years ago. We'll probably end up there for a lazy ale at some stage tomorrow.
We'd love to be staying longer, but this time around, that wasn't possible. We'll certainly be back soon, and Mrs Inventory in particular will want to help the retail trade.
