We had a great evening last night, and from what we've just seen on Sky News, we didn't meet the greatest rugby spectacle. There was a TV on in the bar where we were having pre-dinner drinkies, and we caught a glimpse of the All Black tries, but that was it. And as for Sky News, the rugby was the FOURTH sports story of the morning behind the AFL (84,000 at the G last night for the 'Pies vs the Cats), the NRL and the A-League.
We had a wonderful Malaysian meal at one of elder brother's favourite Melbourne haunts, then it was off to Her Majesty's Theatre to see Mary Poppins. The show only opened in Melbourne a week ago, but it's digging in for a long stay, and the reviews it's been attracting are, in our humble theatrical opinion well merited. It's a children's story, but brought to life on stage by Cameron Mackintosh, it's a show for all ages with brilliant choreography, lots of visual effects, well-known songs and, of course, a fair bit of flying! It was a magnificent end to a memorable Melbourne day.
We're off out soon for breakfast high above the city, then probably to St Kilda to the market and the cake shops on Acland Street. Healthy eating can start again on Tuesday!

You didn't miss much as far as the rugby was concerned - the game was crap - but a good win nevertheless
When I thought about it afterwards it was a game of league with a few lineouts. No rolling mauls, no driving play and all defence.
I say again - it was a crap game to watch.
