How much more bizarre can Act's rapid disintegration as a functioning political party get?
Yesterday was not so much the Day of the Jackal - the Frederick Forsyth thriller from which Act MP David Garrett took the idea of stealing the identity of a long dead baby to procure a fraudulent passport for himself.
Yesterday was the Day of the Jackass. Or, perhaps, jackasses as Garrett and his leader, Rodney Hide, stumbled around like blind mules in the pitch black trying to find some way out of their party's latest mess.
The Day of the Jackass; that's probably the best description we've heard of this whole mess. As more revelations emerge over Garrett's conduct, it seems impossible for Act to keep him on and retain any credibility.
Rodney Hide's return to New Zealand and his media conference at 1pm this afternoon should be very interesting indeed.

yes humourous, but he doesn't go far enough like what I do . .
No-one EVER goes as far as what you do Lee!!! But keep on keeping on please!
Back atcha . ..
What is it about ACT that attracts such people as Garrett?
I'm not attracted in anyway at all, so can't answer my own question.
Perhaps it's Rodney?
Or Douglass?
re attraction to Act; that's one thing that you and I CAN agree on Robert!
Hurrah!
lol - I'm sure that the spirit of agreement will pass - let normal business resume!
@ RG did you miss an apostrophe or were you alluding to the freed slave and anti slavery literary giant Frederick Douglass and if so any link to ACT Party problems escapes me.
GD - both Douglas and Douglass interest me not one whit!
