Jimwatch; the gloves are off

Nine days on from the Christchurch earthquake, and Jim Anderton is moving into campaign mode - Stuff reports:

Wigram MP and Christchurch mayoral candidate Jim Anderton said local politicians had not been kept in the loop.

"They haven't been involved in a way that I think they could have been and would have been if I'd have been mayor," he said.

According to Newstalk ZB, Jim is suggesting that one or two councillors have been kept in the dark, and not involved in the decisionmaking process. Given all his "will he or won't he" stuff over the last few days, we reckon that's a bit rich from Anderton.

Christchurch faces a long road back from the damage suffered last weekend. What Christchurch DOESN'T need is Jim Anderton's "my way or the highway" style of leadership, and a man who will be 75 by the time the 2013 election rolls around.
