We couldn't resist rushing out an earthquake edition of The Monday Quote (together with piccie) when we read this in the Herald:
Dibley has the redoubtable vicar Geraldine, and Hororata has the Rev Jenni Carter.
The vicar of St John's says she is lucky to have a "spare church" across the road.
And when she first saw the damage the earthquake had done to the newer church, she thought "sh*t!".
Rev Jenni Carter sounds like our kind of vicar! We might have to take a drive out to Hororata one Sunday when we're visiting Canterbury.

If you have the urge to go east and end up in Akaroa there is very likely a coffee or something stronger here Iv2.
Our churches came through (all wooden) but our Iconic War Memorial has lost some stonework on one corner and about 4 houses are not going to make it. Little River Church has taken a hit.
