An alternative to Breakfast

We're missing Paul Henry already, and so, it seems are a whole lot of people. So being the helpful find of peopl e that we are, we've decided to offer an alternative to the neutered TVNZ programme.

Given that we are now denied the pleasure of seeing Henry on our screens to get our day off to a cheerful start, we've taken matters into our own hands. Each weekday this week, there will be a post go up here on Keeping Stock at 6.30am; the very moment when Breakfast begins. It'll be a sort of Paul Henry's Greatest Hits!

So here, for your entertainment, your edification, or your outrage - Paul Henry!

See you tomorrow for the next instalment ...

Believe it or not the whale has a brilliant post on freedom of speech, as it relates to Henry.

Perhaps those on the left should take account of it.

Wasn't it Ben Franklin who said "i might not like what you say, butt i will defend tothe death your right to say it."

Interesting observation Alex. Many attribute that quote to Voltaire, but its actual origins are far from certain. It still applies today though.

Shouldn't you be directing your outrage at Henry's dustbinning to Key? After all, it was he that binned him.
Supression of free-speech indeed!

I have a pile of quotation books at home. I will check.
As you say the quote whoever made it is still relevant. Me may not like what is being said but everybody has a right to express their views, unless of course you are of European origin!

So your invocation of free speech isn't at all hypocritical when the people who speak out about others comments are told to shut up and get over it; told that Paul Henry's free speech is more important than theirs?
The 'Free Speech' line of reasoning has no credibility when it's used to blur the real issue: Paul Henry is funny to some people and an offensive bigot to others. It just so happens that he has finally been called out on that fact.....
Again with the Whaleoil association. That bludging, narcissistic, fat, non-indian madman has NOTHING valid to say; free or paid. He's a Narwhal.

@alex Cameron Slater (of the angry, childish, attack politics ilk) does not post about free speech. He directly lifts a thoughtful and erudite posting of Wallace Chapman's, then adds a couple of clunky, shallow thoughts of his own. The Narwhal (that's funny Anon) has neither the intellect nor the humanity to formulate a written piece as considered as Wallace. Credit where credit is due alexmasterly.

@ Glen; and he makes no attempt to pass it off as his own work. Even the title line - Wallace Chapman nails it - gives the credit to the author.

Thanks Inv. Now, does anyone know where I can get some Morning Pirates podcasts? Radio Hauraki's morning slot sucks since Willy and Deano got canned.

Now there's an idea - replace Paul Henry with Willy de Wit...

INV2: I never said Narwhal claimed it as his own. But here, alex essentially claimed it as the narwhal's. The attribution should have been to Wallace's post on Back Benches... not to whaleoil's toxic site. It's poor form indeed.

Christ are you trying to drive away the last remenants of intellect from this blog Invention?

Yr defence of this fuckwad who enjoys hurting people is tragic. Is he acceptable because loads of 'Kiwi's' are racist knobs? No.

The fact that you and yr cheerleaders actually watch the idiot box in the morning is fucking hilarious. Get a fucking life!

xx
