Gold at last!

Gold medal! What a fantastic ride from Alison Shanks to win the 3000m Women's Individual pursuit at Delhi.

We're on the board in the gold medal stakes, and there could be more to come when the men's sprinters take on Australia for the gold medal in a few minutes.

But Alison Shanks, World Champion in this event in 2009 is the woman of the moment; our first Golden Girl for 2010. It's a crying shame that there will be no individual pursuits at the London Olympics in 2012.

UPDATE: The sprinters were not quite good enough, but it was still a creditable performance for the silver medal. Sam Webster took a nasty tumble, but will hopefully recover in time to get his second medal of the games.

JS - typical budging pom - lol.

Boy Inv2 you are raelly attracting them - this anon weirdo Robert Guyton aka Greenfly or Blowfly. The General Debate at Kiwiblog looks saner by the minute.

BTW i thought it was a poor team effort in the scratch race. Mostly they sat at the back of the bunch watching the Aussies dictate instead of being up front taking them on.

Better to die by the sword than to sit back watching and diewondering I would have thought.

No, that's not Robert ... It's a Slater-hater

Yes - I knew that INv2/ - but, they are like flies gathering. I think there are another couple of oddball Anons polluting the place as well.

Still freedom of expression and all that.
