Christian Music Sunday - 2 January 2011

We've blogged a bit about some of the issues we faced in 2010. One of our priorities for 2011 is to get our relationship with God back in synch, because it's all been a bit one-sided for a while, and to be honest, it hasn't been us that's been doing much of the relating!

We discovered Kutless late last year, and we're hooked. Their two worship albums are on frequent rotate on the car stereo and the iPod, and they've really been helpful. We grew up with guitar-driven rock music, and Kutless delivers on that score. But it's their lyrics that we really love.

Today's song is the title track from their first worship album, and the words of the first verse are a pretty good synopsis of our journey over the last 18 months or so - check this out:

When I wander through the desert
And I'm longing for my home
All my dreams have gone astray
When I'm stranded in the valley
And I'm tired and all alone
It seems like I've lost my way

I go running to Your mountain
Where your mercy sets me free

We've done a bit of running to the mountain in the last wee while. And when we've got there, we've experienced God's grace; and it's so good! Enjoy this track today:

We hope that this song might just be the encouragement to someone else out there that it has been to us
.

Thankyou for the clip - really appropriate. It's nice to know that I'm not alone in struggling to get my life in order and on track.

Michael; in all honesty, there are probably as many Christians who struggle as there are non-Christians. Just because our salvation is assured doesn't make us immune from the everyday issues of life. Sure; some people have "bells and whistles" conversions, but for most who come to faith the decision to accept Christ is just the first step of a long journey.

Glad to have struck a chord with you.

I don't often click on the music clips - I'm a bit Scottish with my broadband allocation. I really enjoyed the Christian rap link you posted a while ago, though, and I'm always glad to see the links there.

A merry Christmas to you and yours, and every blessing for the new year.
