Entertaining ..

We're entertaining this evening; a couple from Sweden who are friends of the Inventory-in-laws are passing through, so it's a wonderful chance to extend some Wanganui hospitality. The bird is in the oven, the veges are peeled and ready, there's a salad to be thrown together and a pav to be creamed. There's also a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc chilling, which should complement the hakari nicely! Accordingly, blogging will be of lower priority this evening.

We've done our study. Mrs Inventory and I have e
ach just finished reading Stieg Larsson's most excellent Milennium trilogy, so we feel well acquainted with a land that we hope to visit one day.

The time to be hospitable is almost here, so I'd better concentrate on dinner ...

As a shingles sufferer, you need to PLEASE forego the pav and wine, Fucking dullsville I know, double up on veg and salad, and take your out of town visitors for a lovely after dinner stroll of the lovely sights of Wanganui!

The after-dinner stroll is a lovely idea Suz, but the westerly is fair howling here, and we don't want our guests being blown over to the Hawke's Bay!

Inv you commit the cardinal sin - it is not THE Hawkes Bay.

The province is Hawkes Bay so what you mean is you do not want them blown over to Hawkes Bay.

After all you don't say the Otago or the Canterbury or even the Wanganui or however you spell it these days.

Consider yourself suitably chastised and don't do it again.

@pdm. To think that you called me a "pedantic pom" elsewhere recently. You old black pot you!

Indeed James; we have a geography pedant in our midst!
