Oh dear ... oh dear ... oh dear!

They say a picture tells a thousand words. What might today's Dominion-Post cartoon be saying?

Sometimes, you've just gotta laugh!

Hat-tip: Gotcha

I'm in stitches!
Another in the never-ending series of anti-Goff posts from Inv2. So quick to jump on anyone criticising Key, Inv2, but your own on-going mockery of the Labour leader is A-okay with you.

Why Rob; how short your memory is. It was only last month that I gave yu a free hit at John Key

http://keepingstock.blogspot.com/2011/02/monday-caption-contest-johns-big-gay.html

And guess what; you took full advantage too; almost half of all the comments left that day were from that Robert Guyton fella! I didn't "jump on anyone" criticising John Key that day, Robert Guyton included. Methinks you doth protest too much!

Copy, paste, phony. The holy trinity.

Inventory2 said...

Copy, paste; absolutely. Hat-tip to the source; yep. Don't blame me for what New Zealand's second-largest daily newspaper has published.

robertguyton said...

Rename your blog Inv2!

"Hat-tip GotchaKiwiblog"

Inventory2 said...

Well Rob, that would be infinitely preferable to Influenced by Robert Guyton.

Thanks for your concern, but we'll stick with the status quo for now; Keeping Stock was so named for a reason.

Wow robertguyton seems to have an unhealthy obsession with you I2.

Bloody lefties huh?

Can't live with 'em, cant burn 'em.

robertguyton said...

Treat them with respect and deference Anonymous - one day they'll be your overlords - remember, the meek shall inherit the earth.
Yours meekly
Robert

It was "cheesemakers" wasn't it? You diversifying from cider?

robertguyton said...

I like allusions James and allude all over the show but I just can't grasp yours, to my chagrin!
Care to enlighten me?

goodness .. Bob's back. Good to see he isn't bored yet. I thought he would be sailing to protest the oil exploration company coming to NZ. Had to laugh watching the yachts motoring out of their berths .. um, where did the diesel come from?

Not from the deep sea off the East Cape Jabba.
And neither should it.

Here's a terrific exchange in copy and paste mode from the intelligent discussions over at public address. INV2, if only you were so considered in your phony ramblings.

John Morrison says: It’s a strange thing – if I remember correctly the Worth Affair was handled similarly by Key when it blew up, but the media never questioned his leadership. There has been grumblings within the Labour caucus with the way Goff handled this, but I haven’t heard any of them saying he should go. But that hasn’t stopped the media continuing the refrain that Goff is under threat. They have even talked to Carter who isn’t in the party anymore. Goff doesn’t strong-arm the government like he should but that’s the nature of the guy....
...But when you have Mr Smile’nWave headlining TV news with a significant package for ChCh reconstruction from a private bank, but invisible at the ChCh-losing-RWC-games announcement, I just think Goff/Labour have a hard job just now breaking through the blue smoke-screen that pervades NZ media currently.

Danyl replies: You do not remember correctly. The first thing we found out about Worth was that the PM had sacked him.

Russell counters: But not that he was subject to police investigation. He had resigned for “personal reasons” and there would be no further comment.
At the time, Key had known about the allegations for a fortnight – the same length of time that Goff kept his own counsel on Hughes.

You really should widen your phony outlook INV2.

@ Robertbaby "remember, the meek shall inherit the earth"

Lets see how that works out for Capitan Meek Mr Goff first before you put too much stock in it.

@ Rob (5.11pm) - I believe that James, a bloke with a similar taste in comedy to myself might be referring to a line from the classic mive Monty Python's Life of Brian, with a slightly different and irreverant take on the Sermon on the Mount.

robertguyton said...

Julie Collinge has provided you with something real to discuss Inv2 - the actual details of the Richard Worth case, especially Key's dodgy (literally) management of the affair, compared with the Goff's experience is genuinely interesting but I suppose you'll smother it here as quickly as you can, as is your want.
Jabba - your arrogant dismissal of the 'flotilla' says so much about you and if you didn't bore me to the extent that you do, I'd deal to your nonsense, but bored by you I am.

Inventory2 said...

Julia Collinge or Julian Collins Rob? They seem to think (and write) remarkably similarly. One could even speculate that they are figments of the imagination of another blogger. It just seems rather coincidental that so often someone comments anonymously, then someone else choruses the comment under their own name. Does that ever happen on your blog? It's got me screwtaped?

Not the others said...

I'm not the others but bloody well agree with them.
The message INV2, the message. Not the messenger. Phony! (as they say...)

Whalehunter said...

Robert you're bored by Inv2's choice of posts, and bored by Jabba??
My wise old mum used to tell us, "bored people are boring people", and she was never wrong! You want Inv2 to discuss the actual details of the Richard Worth case, but you're not willing to discuss the actual details of the current situation, not even in your "meek" way.

And as for dear Julie, I fear for your blood-pressure levels...big breaths, that's the way.

Seamonkey Madness said...

Holy shit, who is Robert Guyton and what a life he must lead if the pinnacle of it is leaving snide remarks on a blog he doesn't even like?

jabba said...

ahh, the left just can't get away from the smile a wave name calling .. fantastic. Keep it up.
Bobby, you are a hypocritical prat. So much of what you use comes from oil but that's ok aye, as long as it comes from another country .. shame on you.
Booby and Julian haven't woken up to the fact that strong Labour bloggers have lost patience with Goffs Gaffes .. go figure

Whalehunter said...

Goodness grief Seamonkey Madness...you haven't heard of the great Greenie saviour, who some-how thinks constant criticism of the author of this blog will make us all see the light and vote Green? My seamonkeys never quite looked like the ones advertised in my Archie comics

James Stephenson said...

I was going to go with "What Jesus blatantly fails to appreciate is that it's the meek who are the problem" but didn't think anyone would get *that* reference.

Help, help, I'm being oppressed.

Inventory2 said...

You'll have to work it out for yourself James ...

robertguyton said...

Inv - you're over-thinking - I'm not Judith Collins et al.
Jabba - what's 'smile a wave name calling'?
You say it's 'fantastic' and I'm willing to accept your word on it, but it'd be better if your meaning was more clear.

Bystander said...

INV2 I agree with Julie/Juian state your real name and then you will be taken seriously as an opinionated blogger. It'll be easy enough to find out. Just ask a certain councillor in Whanganui. Will you agree to it being revealed on another blog? It gets more curiouser.

robertguyton said...

Whalehunter - your Seamonkey's didn't look like the ones in the Archie comics?
That's your lack of imagination hampering you right there. Mine had little crowns on their heads.

Whalehunter said...

only Robert would have the Royal Seamonkeys..did they talk to ya, provide you with visions of a better world

robertguyton said...

Yes! They told me that the X-ray specs really do work!!!
It's a secret I'm happy to share with you Whalehunter (don't tell anyone else!)

robertguyton said...

"What I’d like to see is an article examining the glaringly obvious role National and its activists played in spreading false rumours about a Labour coup: the Hooton/Ede/DPF/Slater nexus – although I guess writing such an article might compromise the authors chances of receiving more false rumours in future."

False rumours Inv2. See the crew that's named? Friends of yours.

Danylmc a smart cookie.

robertguyton said...

"Reports of demise premature'

Ele @ Homepaddock calls those reports 'premature'. She's not realised yet what Danyl knows and what I believed all along. What were you saying about the issue Inv2?

Inventory2 said...

I'm actually trying to have a Phil Goff-free day today Rob, although after his performance on Breakfast this morning where he said that the Hughes issue was a caucus matter then had to admit that he hadn't actually told caucus (including Andrew Little) about it, it's not easy!

robertguyton said...

A Phil Goff-free day Inv2?
Well that is nice for you and I'll bet Goff will be relieved that you are pausing in your campaign to support 'the National party and activists spreading false rumours about a Labour Party coup' and won't today be asking:

"So who do YOU think should lead the Labour Party in the run-up to the 2011 election?

This is a serious question. On the left there seems to be growing unease with Phil Goff's performance".

In light of Ele taking stock of the situation and realising that it was all sound and fury and no substance, and Danyl@ The Dim-Post calling out those rumour-mongers (of whom you are one) for their manipulations, it would be a good idea for you to keep your head down for a while.

Claude said...

Hiding behind a parapet of anonymity it is difficult to imagine INV2's head being down any further, except to see it disappear up its own arse. If this INV2 blogger is who he says he isn't, that is.

robertguyton said...

Inv2 - are you allowed to ease up on the programme to have evryone believe that 'Goff must go'???
Farrar's still pushing it as hard as he can, waving Trevor Mallard's name around and feeding the flames of the torches of the Kiwiblog rabble.
Did you get permission to take a break? Maybe you're doing a 'tag-team' kind of assault, in which case you'll be awaiting instructions. Rest easy Inv2 - you'll be needed again soon!

Inventory2 said...

I saw that post Rob, and would suggest that DPF is, as his mast-head notes fomenting happy mischief. Can you REALLY imagine Mallard as a leader? What would Kevin Hague think?

robertguyton said...

You a fan of fomenting happy mischief Inv2?
I know I am.

Inventory2 said...

I never would have guessed Rob! But yes, absolutely.

Are you aware where the term came from? It was in a letter to the editor by Dr Peter Davis prior to the 2008 election where he accused bloggers of "fomenting happy mischief" over something that his wife had said or done. DPF was quick to pick up the quote and run with it, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Oh, and FWIW, I have never met either DPF or Cam Slater, so I can't really claim them as "friends"

robertguyton said...

Remeber when Farrar fomented happy mischief by claiming repeatedly that the Greens wanted to shoot the national dairy herd?
Remember that?
Happy eh! Oh those were mischievous times with ol' Dave.
We need more of that sort of fun, eh Inv!
Maybe here we could give that a whirl - whadda ya reckon?
"Key reveals he paid teenager to run naked past Hughes home' - that sort of thing.

Inventory2 said...

And of course you'd NEVER suggest anything like that, would you Rob ...

robertguyton said...

I wouldn't Inv, but I read that headline in the ODT this morning!

robertguyton said...

Goff's leadership safe

"According to The Standard’s spies in Dunedin, the Labour Party front bench meeting has just concluded. Goff’s leadership has been confirmed, with unanimous support."

Your erosive attempts have failed Inv2.
Time for a re-think. It seems to me that all the nonsense you and your 'friends I have never met' have done Labour a big favour and strengthened the Red machine. Well done!

Inventory2 said...

Time will tell Rob. There may have been a show of unity today, but that doesn't mean that the problem has gone away.

robertguyton said...

There was a unanimous show of support Inv2 - you can't ask better than that from a caucus. Goff will be hugely strengthened by the result, though not surprised at all.
Like me.

jabba said...

why would KS disclose his name. I wrote a letter to the Herald a few years ago about Jennette Fitzsimons?? she actually did a reply. A few days later I received a lovely letter in the post, on very nice recycled paper with really nice handwriting telling me the errors of my ways .. unsigned of course. Hey, it might have been from you Bob.

robertguyton said...

All those 'nice's mean that it was certain Jeanette, Jabba, and not me.
Have you had a response from any other MPs? I had three from Peter Dunne, several years ago. I'd gotten under his skin and he was really snotty with what I'd asked him.

Inventory2 said...

You got under someone's skin Rob? Sheesh; never would have expected that :)

robertguyton said...

I know Inv2! It's really odd.
Bill English foolishly replied to one or two of my letters to the editor as well :-)
Perhaps I should address a question to Key, though he'd probably just reply,
'Yuk, yuk, yukity, yuk!'

jabba said...

had a couple of E-mails from mallard on why he deleted comments I made on Redablurt .. lame as but lefties hate dissent aye bob

robertguyton said...

Not me jabba - it's chum to me!
