Holidays are great. We've also learned this week just how necessary they are.
We had a bit of a break over Christmas, but we took work with us. This time around, we haven't, and the difference is noticeable; beneficial too.
Burnout is insidious. Like thirst, by the time you realize it, the damage has already begun. A bit of space from the workplace has helped us to realize just how hectic and chaotic things have been in the last few months. Some fresh air, some much- needed exercise and some good nights of sleep have been just the caper. Another week would be even better, but sadly, that won't be possible.
Still, we'll be returning to work next week (and to the blogosphere) with renewed energy and clarity of thought; both commodities which have been in short supply of late. And one of the first things that we'll be doing when we get home is organising our next holiday, so that we don't get into this rut again.
We may not have wireless access again this week, so blogging may be light until we get home. In the meantime though, it's time for some more R&R; happy days!
