Marina Erakovic appears to be returning to her career best form.
The New Zealand tennis number one is through to the main draw of the French Open after beating the Czech Republic's Petra Cetkowska in the third and final round of qualifying.
It Is only the second time Erakovic has qualified for the main draw at Roland Garros and it will be her first grand slam appearance in sixteen months.
She says her resurgence is a result of a lot of hard work.
Erakovic says she has been trying to do the best she can in training and during matches, while also staying positive.
This is terrific news for Earkovic, and for New Zealand tennis which is really in the doldrums. It's a very rare event now to have a New Zealander in the main draw at a Grand Slam event, and we wish Marina Erakovic every success as she takes on Dutch player Arantxa Rus in the first round at Roland Garros.
