Of David Cunliffe and the Vanishing Poll

We just paid David Cunliffe's website a visit to check on poll results.

Oddly, there's no poll on the site anymore. That's right, dear readers; it's vanished into cyberspace somewhere. Labour's Finance spokesman, and their #3 MP has pulled the Budget poll we blogged about last night. That's a shame, because when we last looked, respondents to Mr Cunliffe's poll had given the yet-to-be-delivered Budget a resounding endorsement; 88% declaring they would be better off!

We can only conclude the either Mr Cunliffe decided that he had jumped the shark by putting his poll up 48 hours early, or that the early polling results forced his hand. Whichever, this is a gaffe that he could have done without. Perhaps one of Labour's strategists, such as Trevor Mallard or Pete Hodgson will now be working with him to ensure that there are no more social media fails from the Red Team; well, this week anyway!

By Louise Upston in the house just now: "What reports has the Minister seen with regard to the public's response to the Budget?"!
What a great laugh at Silent T's expense!

Well spotted Anon; Louise must have been reading Keeping Stock last night when we asked that very question!
