Wellywood Fail ...

It seems that the Wellington International Airport company wallahs are the only people who belive that the Wellywood sign on the Miramar hillside is a good idea. We reckon that the students pictured above speak for the majority with their response.

Steve Fitzgerald and his board seem to overlook one delicious piece of irony. Wellington's film industry has been built not only on excellence, but on creativity, innovation and originality. Just how creative, innovative and original is it to copy Hollywood's known-around-the-globe sign? In our humble opinion, it represents everything that Wellington's film community isn't.

Think again WIA Limited; you run the risk of turning Wellington into Wally-wood.
