As was alluded to this morning, we did indeed end up at Parliament today, catching up with a friend who is on secondment to the office of a Minister.
We lunched at the Beehive, keeping a close watch out for Robert Guyton's better half who was also in Wellington, but sadly, our paths didn't cross. We did a spot of poli-watching though, and saw a number of familiar faces.
We won't list all the names, but Cameron Slater will interested to hear that we spied Trevor Mallard in a tracksuit not too long before Question Time, and still sporting a pair of crutches. We're not medical experts by any stretch of the imagination, but we'd venture to suggest that Mr Mallard has some distance to go in his recovery from his unfortunate accident, and that accepting a cycling challenge in September may not have been his wisest move; time will tell. Get well soon Trevor!
We briefly considered popping in to Question Time, but time was our enemy, and we had to head faway. All things considered, our brief visit to Wellington was enjoyable, and hopefully yesterday's deadline and meeting will have a productive outcome.

You clearly exhibit masochist tendencies Iv2, I do not believe for one moment the alternative to the seat of power was Wellington ED, for the dislocated arm of course.
All of Wellington could do with Killer Coach Hammet! Forget the Cake-Tin the Beehive is where to start.

You missed Question Time live? That's the best part. I went last year, two days in a row, wish I'd made it three (went to the Eueopean Masters show on the third day), was blommin good fun, the day of the David Caygill, not Cunliffe, gaffe.
Where can you eat at Parliament though? Are you talking about the Ministry of Food cafe, which is behind Parliament, towards the big hill at the back, or elsewhere?
And that's European Masters. Was really good, but I still in hindsight, wish I'd had that third helping of fun politics live! Oh well, next time...
Happy travelling, IV2. Did you spot JK around the halls of power at all?...
;) Trevor
