A Taxing Caption Contest

Tax is the issue de jour, so let's have some fun. PM of NZ's blog had this piccie the other day, and it cries out for some creativity.

You know the rules; short and pithy, on-topic not abusive, and most of all, humourous. Doubtless a certain commenter will want to zone in on one short sentence from a seven-minute interview at the weekend, but let's focus on the bus!

Labour taking you for a ride from rack to ruin.

There are still Rich Pricks we haven't got yet!!!

Puzzled by the lack of interest in their tax policy, labour leaders had failed to notice that their bus was driverless.

There are more than one commenter who finds Bill English's revelations that he doesn't find it immoral the super rich avoid tax. Mr Guyton is not the only reader of reason here. PDM your obsession with Rich Pricks makes me wonder if they're coated in gold leafed lycra like James' Stephenson's could well be.
Cullen was right in making the implicit distinction between the moral rich and rich pricks. There are pleasant poor and poor pricks too. Which are you PDM?

Here is my caption:
"That is the worst piece of photoshop ever. The skill level destroys the intended effect of the message, however poorly construed that message may be. If you want funny captions, put up funny pictures."

Pithy enough?
Or just a little tart, like citrus; like the lemon of an idea asset sales is.

NZ Labour party....
Just like a big red empty bus, whose driver has fled to New York without even shutting the door behind her.

You are a wag,Jennifer.

mmm Jennifer not sure why you have chosen me as your example. But to help you out I am presently in the `poor pick' category.

mrspdm and I have just spent two years in the UK and by choice eroded our investments to the extent we have none left. Our choice and we did it knowingly. Only income at present is my NZ Super of about $13,600pa - mrs pdm does not qualify and by choice we have not added her to the super.

To rectify the problem we are in the course of buying a business in a part of NZ banks choose not to lend to. However, we have almost overcome that problem.

We presently live with our daughter and son-in-law at their pleasure - they could tell us to bugger off at any time.

A word of caution - peoples views are often different to their financial circumstances.

So you're saying you're a prick PDM?
Bizzare, but if so, full marks for honesty.

I'm poor but one of the pleasant sort.
My friends are rich, but not of the prick variety.
I do know some rich pricks though.
They would be pricks if they were poor too.
I think Cullen had it about right.
English does not.

"peoples views are often different to their financial circumstances"

With that line PDM, I guess since I am a landlord, persona non-grata of late in the taxable worldview of some, I must be an evil uncaring ruthless greedy rich prick capitalist RWNJ!

Or should it be the other way round???

Crikey I2 you seem to attract more than your fair share of people of the troll persuasion.

Quite so Quintin; I see that as a sign that KS is having some effect; why would people go to such lengths to discredit the blog and its authors otherwise?

pdm said...

pmofnz - Jennifer would think so.

Everybody sing:

"The wheels on the bus have fallen off, fallen off, fallen off.
The wheels on the bus have fallen off, Goff is gone."

We have a winner; well done Michael!

You know, Jennifer, I might have believed your statement that you are a "pleasant sort" if only you hadn't been so rude in your earlier comment. Pleasant? I don't think so.

OOooohh "I have rich friends but they are not pricks" Bwaaaahaahahahahahaha
Only a part time socialist then. selective moral judgement and a leaning towards favouritism of people who are "liked".

Cullen made no such distiction in spite of the fact that both he and Helen fell into the category. Self-loathing must be a horrible attribute to posess Jennifer.
