Abstain from Telecom

Here's the first of Telecom's proposed "Abstain" advertisements:

Judge the merits or the lack thereof for yourself. For us, the video is as tacky as the idea behind the campaign. The sight of former All Black hard man Sean Fitzpatrick driving a pink fist is bizarre; it's rather like an erotic version of the Wiggles' car. We reckon that the less seen of them, the better.

Telecom and Saatchi have missed the mark here, and by a wide margin. We suspect that Paul Reynolds will be doing another fishing commercial/apology very soon; especially when the punters start to abstain from Telecom!

I'm with you on this IV2. Perhaps you could diversify your business. Anyone in a position to quickly produce such items as "Abtain from Telecom" bumper stickers would surely find there is a demand.

woops. Obviously should have been "Abstain" not "Abtain" in my post at 10:18 AM. A mistake but not on the scale of Telecom's one. And what about Fitzpatrick? His decision to be part of this is a long way short of his good judgement when he was the All Black captain.

@FBB money talks and having to slum it down here for a couple of months he probably saw a need to raise his relevance and profile a little.

Abstaining from Telecom has merit but my lifestyle makes that just a little complicated.
Here in Paradise Vodaphone coverage is a little problematical and where we store the Caravan on the outskirts of CHC it is the bees knees with Telecom the absolute dog.
Also we are on a "free toll and generous internet" plan with the copper connection courtesy of Telecom
Replaced the Disco recently and it came with a Vodaphone hands free, imagine my disappointment when I bought a $20 simcard to fire it up and found it was password protected.

F*@king technology.
