We'd planned a day of working from home today doing mundane things like GST and accounts. But we made the mistake of flicking the telly on to CNN to see what's happening in Libya.
It seems as though the Gaddafi regime is about to be overthrown, and it's happening live on TV, right in our living rooms. Libya's rebels say they've captured Muammar Gaddafi's son, Saif Al-Islam, and rebel troops are advancing on Tripoli.
Doubtless the situation in Libya will become clearer as the day goes on, but it's looking increasingly inevitable that the Gaddafi regime's rule is coming to a rapid end.
UPDATE (10.40am): CNN is reporting now that the rebels have captured two of Gaddafi's sons, and that Gaddafi himself is making noises about negotiating.
UPDATE (10.50am): Reuters has a live update on the breaking story here...
UPDATE (12.10pm): The rebel soldiers have reached the Green Square in Tripoli; Gaddafi is vowing to fight until the "last drop of blood" is shed, but there seems to now be an unstoppable tide against him.

Once, and it is looking like that, Gadaffi is gone, the previously united rebels will split into various factions based largley on secular and non secular lines.
The classic "Peoples Front of Judea" vs the "Judean Peoples Front" divide if you will.
The place will be chaos for a while until one of these two braod groupings gains control.
who the hell would want to live in places like that .. I REALLY feel sorry for the poor buggers, joe average, who simply want to get on with their lives. And Alex is dead right, it will take years to come right as who will be the new Leader.
GST?? .. employ Matt McCartans accountant
Yes, I'll be listening to the BBC online.
From my Western democracy mind-set I can't decide which is worse - that he ruled Libera for over 41 year, or the fact that someone would want to.
Did he not stop and think just for one second it's time to give someone else a go?
