We blogged earlier in the week about the Greens Hamilton West candidate Max Dillon Coyle, and an unfortunate "misunderstanding" between him and the Waikato Times.
Actions have consequences, and we understand that the Greens no longer have a Hamilton West candidate. Whether the de-selection was self-inflicted or external is not yet clear.
This has embarrassed the Greens more than somewhat; they are after all the only principled party in Parliament now that NZ First is no longer there! But telling porkies to the press is telling porkies, regardless of the hue of the party that does it.

Inv2 - don't be a dick!
The party didn't do it, as you imply
"But telling porkies to the press is telling porkies, regardless of the hue of the party that does it."
This hasn't 'embarrassed the Greens more than somewhat', no matter how much you'd trumpet your claim.
You do get one thing right though,
"they are after all the only principled party in Parliament now" and I commend you for that.
Of course it embarrassed the Greens Robert; why was Toad doing damage control at Kiwiblog, and why else were Russel and Metiria summonsed to put out the fire?
'More than somewhat' was your claim Inv2. I see you've sunk to selective quoting :-)
It was an embarassing situation and as Ele so graciously pointed out, it could happen to any party - none can control every action of their new candidates. Ele's take on the issue is reasonable, yours is fevered. Pdm has spooked you into thinking it's a big storm, but you've forgotten where it's little thunderheads and teeny lightening bolts are playing their tune - in a tea-cup.
Let's talk instead about Keys and his duplicity :-)

I'd normally delete that post Robert, but you've done it again; deliberately mis-spelt the PM's name. Don't you realise how petty that makes you look?
Keys?
I'm just aghast Inv2, remembering how many times I've seen Helen Clark's name mispelled, mangled, rendered obscene here in Keeping Stock and I can't for the life of me recall a single instance where you've complained about that, or threatened to delete a comment that carries a mispelled name.
Is this what you come to, with you Keys-obession? Threatening to delete comments that spell his name incorrectly?

You can happily discuss Trevor Mallard's excretory system at Kiwiblog, "I bet Trevor Mallard’s sphincter quivers" but someone here mispelling Keys's name gets threatened with deletion?
Hmmmmmm....
No Robert; the deletion would have been for trolling, as you well know.
But Robert; I thought that you and your fellow Greens were so much more principled, and above all that juvenile stuff; I feel as though I've been robbed of my innocence!
You are probably right, Inv2. My fellow Greens are polite and principled, but I'm not above teasing those who take themselves too seriously. Anyone who bristles at 'Keys' is doing just that.
Calling him the 'Prime Mincer', now that would be juvenile, but I'll refrain for now.
You don't think it's a little odd, berating one of your guests here for a simple misspelling?
Are there no greater issues for you to engage with?
The economy perhaps? It's got Bill English looking as though he's ready for a retirement home.
The greens are fallible! The greens have been wrong-footed by their own idiot. Simple as that.
Cadwallader
The Greens are fallible and have been wrong-footed.
Seriously worrying stuff Cad.
This surely signals the end of the Greens.
Why, you have to ask, did they ever bother to try!
So what do you think of that bounder and cad Brash stealing Green Party policy then Robert?
Just dividing the spoils from a party, that as Cad points out, is finished!
Wow I missed this post amongst all the others, glad you took the time out of your day to blog on this serious issue. It's almost as if right wing bloggers and their crony readers have spent more time on this and less time attacking our brilliant plan for job creation, something National completely lacks... It's always a good idea to go for a soft target, but you should make sure its worth fighting over, rather than just wasting your breath. Have a wonderful day, read the rest of your posts, don't think I'll be back, not that I disagree with your views but if I want right wing rubbish may as well get it from a good bin, oh and thanks for the follow on twitter, every follow counts :D You're a good man Sir!
