UPDATED - Changes to the All Blacks

Desperate times call for desperate measures. The news has just broken that both Mils Muliaina and Colin Slade have been ruled out of any further involvement in RWC2011. Their respective replacements, set to be announced at a media conference at 4pm are Hosea Gear and Stephen Donald.

Oh dear. We can only keep EVERYTHING crossed and hope that Aaron Cruden does not suffer the same fate as Slade and Daniel Carter.

UPDATE: The changes to the New Zealand squad have now been confirmed. Colin Slade's wretched 2011 is over, with a groin tear to add to two broken jaws and a leg injury. It's little wonder that Slade was down on confidence; he's barely played any rugby in 2011.

An Mils Muliaina's All Black career ends with the news that he has broken his shoulder. Muliaina played his 100th and final test match last night, and now heads for a new career in Japan post-RWC. It's a really sad way for a stellar All Black career to end; Muliaina won't even be allowed to be with the All Black squad for their remaining matches due to the IRB's stringent replacement regulations.

Thanks for the memories Mils, and all the best for the next phase of an outstanding rugby career.

Brilliant .. Said here ages ago that Stephen will get into the squad .. or words to that effect. Slade was a stupid selection due to recent injury and lack of game time. His passing in the games he played was terrible.
When Waikato played Manawatu this season, Donald showed up Cruden. Donald is our No2 1st 5 .. Like it or not.
Heard on the radio people are still blaming him for the AB’s missing out on a 100% record last year because of a kick. The game was 80 mins long for goodness sake.

Logical choices really.

What happens if Cruden falls over?
